Why this?An essential part of teaching (and indeed our professional standards which are currently under review) involves planning to enable the selection of appropriate pedagogy, tailored teaching for individuals and accountability to government and professional body requirements. Planning is particularly helpful when encountering or implementing a new pedagogical approach. It can be used as a framework for self-reflection, notating formative assessments as well as providing a space for the intricacies of implementation of the new approach to be anticipated and implemented.
